Are You Adding A Guest House To Your Property?
Are you lucky enough to live on large property? Perhaps you live in the country or maybe you have late acreage in a neighborhood close to the city. No matter where you live, you might be thinking of adding a guest house to your property. With the holidays almost here, you may be considering the fact that you'll have out of town guests staying at your house. For example, your grown kids might be coming to spend Christmas with you, bringing their spouse and their children with them. Or, good friends might be coming to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with you. No matter the circumstances that you are adding a guest house to your property, won't it be nice for your guests to have their own space? And, won't it be nice for you to have privacy while your guests are in their very own quarters? Have you decided on a rustic design for the guest house? If so, from choosing rustic barn doors to selecting rustic furniture for the guest house, here are some ideas that might help you.
A Rustic Barn Door - if you've decided on a rustic design for your guest house, you are probably in for some very fun planning. For example, set the mood of your guest house by selecting custom barn doors of a rustic design. Say you've chosen red brick for the outside of the guest house. If so, don't you think that a rustic wooden door with brass hardware would be perfect with the red brick? Perhaps you've selected gray brick for the material. If so, consider selecting a black door with pewter hardware. If you have chosen to build your guest house of rock, either black or any other color of wood for your front door will more than likely work with the rock.
The Rustic Inside - Have you considered adding a fireplace to the guest house? If so, consider building it out of the same material that you chose for the outside of your house and then add a mantle of the same wood that you selected for your custom barn door. And, think of doing the same with your furniture. If you selected red brick for your material, with a dark wood for the door, consider selecting dark wood for your furniture. If you went with something like gray brick, think of selecting gray metal or gray wood for the furniture. Or, add some pizazz to the room by buying unfinished furniture and painting it brick red.
